Accommodations

Lodging options include the Hilton Garden Inn, Hawthorne Suites, and rooms in a University of Illinois Residence Hall.

Attendees who wish to stay in local hotels are responsible for making their own room reservations. If you wish to stay in a dormitory room on the University of Illinois campus, information is located at the bottom of this page, and you must indicate your preferences on the conference registration form. University housing policy does not allow individuals to make their own dormitory room reservations.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the following hotels with their corresponding room rates:

Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites:

Hilton Garden Inn Champaign-Urbana is located within 2 blocks of the University of Illinois south campus, within walking distance to Assembly Hall and Memorial Stadium. The area immediately around the hotel has a variety of eateries all within walking distance. All hotel guest rooms include: microwave, refrigerator, coffee/ coffeemaker, iron/ ironing board, hair dryers, Garden Sleep System, MP3 / Clock / Radio and 27'' Flat Screen Televisions. All rooms have both wired and wireless internet access with convenient connections at desk level. The Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois has an oversized fitness center, guest laundry, business center (copier, fax, computer, printer & scanner) that is complimentary to guests and accessible 24 hours a day. The Pavilion Pantry (Sundry Shop) is open 24 hours a day, located adjacent to the front desk and sells items that you may have forgotten. The hotel has a state of the art security system that can be monitored inside and outside the property. The indoor pool and whirlpool are available to hotel guests from 6am until 10pm.

The Homewood Suites facility is part of the same property as the Hilton Garden Inn and is administered by the Hilton. Every two-rooms suite features separate living and sleeping areas and fully-equipped kitchen. The suite is large enough for work, study or entertaining, plus all the comforts of home including two TV's, Video Cassette Player or on-demand movies, complimentary High Speed Internet Access, two phones with data ports, a full-size refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker.

The conference room block has been split between the two properties. Room rates are: Single or Double room: $119.99 plus tax (currently 11% per room per night) The hotel is extending this group rate for two nights prior to the conference and two nights after the conference. This room rate includes a hot breakfast. Reservations at this conference rate must be made by June 5, 2007. After June 5, 2007 the room block will be dropped and rooms will no longer be available. If you are calling the Hilton Garden Inn for reservations (217-352-9970), or Homewood Suites (217-352-9960), mention that you are booking a room in the "NACTA" room block.

Hawthorn Suites of Champaign:

This recently renovated hotel features spacious studio suites with pillow-top mattresses and efficiency kitchens, an indoor heated pool and hot tub, access to exercise facilities, an on-site guest laundry and valet service. Hotel guests enjoy a daily complimentary hot breakfast buffet each morning, and can take advantage of our evening lounge nightly. Business travelers will enjoy the in-room business services, which feature an oversized work area complete with data port, high-speed Internet, personal voice mail and daily complimentary newspaper. Additional amenities include a 6,000 square feet of space in our Conference Center which is suitable for both business and social events.

Room rates are: Single, Double, Triple, Quad Rooms: $89.99 plus tax (currently 11% per room per night) Reservations at this conference rate must be made by May 21, 2007. After May 21, 2007 the room block will be dropped and rooms will no longer be available. Reservations made after the room block is dropped will be honored based on availability and may be at a higher room rate.

Make your reservations early - all reservations must be made by the drop date listed for each hotel. Please keep in mind that after that date the hotel rooms will be released and available only on a space-available basis.

University Dormitory Housing
The deadline for reserving university housing is Friday, May 25, 2007.

If you wish to stay in a dormitory room on the University of Illinois campus, your room reservation must be handled through the U of I Office of Continuing Education. Sherman Hall is the conference dormitory.

Sherman Hall is located at 909 S. Fifth Street in Champaign, on the west side of campus. It consists of one high-rise building and one low-rise building joined by a common lobby, with two single rooms sharing an adjoining bathroom. The single rate is $39.45 per night.

The beds are extra long twins. A micro-fridge (a small microwave and refrigerator combination) is provided in all Sherman Hall rooms.

Please include your total housing payment with your registration fee. Dorm housing fees must be paid prior to arrival at the conference.

NACTA participants needing parking while residing during the conference in the University residence hall must purchase a parking permit at the front desk of the residence hall at the time of check-in. Current parking permit rate is $9/day. This rate is subject to change.
