Please read carefully as these guidelines have changed substantially from past years.

Oral Presentations:
Session format - This year's oral presentations are limited to 48. There will be three concurrent sessions during each oral session, so audiences are expected to be sizeable. Oral presentations are allocated a total of 20 minutes each, including time for your introduction by the session moderator and questions from the audience. Plan on making a 15 minute presentation to allow for questions and discussion afterward. There will also be 10 minutes at the end of all presentations for a larger discussion on the topic, so all presenters are expected to remain in their assigned session.

  • Create your presentation in PowerPoint (2007 or 2010) format.
  •  No live internet feed will be available in the presentations rooms.
  • Email your presentation to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by JUNE 25.
  • You will receive confirmation from the NACTA planning committee that your presentation has been received and is viewable.

Site information - Each presentation room will have a podium with a microphone and PA system if needed. When fielding questions from the audience, please restate questions as necessary prior to making your response.

Save your presentation as a PDF file. Provide this file to the NACTA Journal Editor at the Conference or Email it to him any time before the Conference or within two weeks after the Conference (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). These will be shared on the NACTA website.

Poster Presentations:
Session format - This year's conference organizers are encouraging networking and discussion in much the same manner as reverse instruction (flipped classroom, backwards classroom). The amount of time posters are on display and the amount of time in poster sessions has been increased. Posters will be displayed for an entire day of the conference, presenters are expected at their posters for 1 hour. Please check the Poster Schedule in the Program booklet for set-up time, take-down time, and the time to be present at your poster.

  • Posters should be no more than 48 inches (122 cm) tall by 40 inches (102 cm) wide.
  • Posters will be affixed to panel dividers.
  • Participants must supply their own tacks for hanging the poster.
  • No electrical outlets will be provided in the poster presentation area. Back-lighted photos, sound or projection equipment, and free-standing displays are prohibited.
  • You may prepare handouts for distribution at the poster session, you will need an envelope or folder to hold them in on the display.
  • Posters should be readable from a distance of 5 to 6 feet (up to 2 meters). For adequate visibility, capital letters should be at least 3/8 inch (1 cm) high after enlargement to full poster size. Photographs should be a minimum of 5 x 7 inches.
  • Assemble titles, text, illustrations, graphics, tables, etc. on your poster clearly and effectively---avoid presenting too much information and creating visual congestion.
