NACTA committees are allowed (and encouraged) to develop a workshop for the annual meetings. Other committees have the option to co-sponsor a workshop with another committee but this is not required. The Educational Issues and Teaching Improvement (EITI) committee will encourage a thematic workshop from the host institution each year. With the addition of the trade show; vendors may also wish to submit a workshop proposal to highlight their products.
All workshop proposals should have a workshop coordinator. The designated coordinator should submit workshop proposals. The coordinator will work with the host institution planning committee. All workshop speakers must be registered for the annual meeting.
Workshop Submission
All workshop submissions must include the following information:
- Coordinator
- Workshop Title—
- NACTA member(s)
- NACTA committee(s)
- Host Institution
- Organization (for trade show vendors)
- Abstract – a brief description of the goals, objectives or topics to be covered in the workshop. Connections to the role and mission of NACTA should be incorporated into the abstract narrative. Abstract information will be used in the program.
- Speakers – a list of presenters or individuals who will be presenting the material; this list should include their name, title, institution/organization, email address. This will be printed in the list of attendees.

Each year a member of the host institution along with the EITI committee chair will review proposals and work with the conference program and host site committee to select workshops.
Coordinators may also make a request for funds to support the workshop (i.e. used for travel for a speaker; shipment of equipment; printing of materials and shipping, etc.). The NACTA Executive Committee will determine if financial support is needed and will determine the amount to be awarded. The NACTA Executive Committee will determine if funding is to be allocated on or before the March Executive Committee meeting.
