Hello from your NACTA Journal Editor-in-Chief. First of all, I hope everyone is staying well in these unusual times. I have been in this role now for over a year, and I appreciate being able to serve the NACTA membership in this way. There are several things going on right now, so it is always busy.

The NACTA Executive Board established an Ad Hoc Task Force last June to examine NACTA journal procedures and policies. A highly committed group of NACTA members met throughout the summer and we are finalizing our report to the board at this time. These members include Nick Fuhrman, Amoritia Hewett, Elizabeth Karcher, Chad Miller, Melanie Miller-Foster, Brian Pearson, and myself as chair. The proposal will involve significant changes to the NACTA standing rules and one bylaw change. Daniel Foster, the NACTA parliamentarian, is working with me to have these ready to present at the NACTA mid-year meeting in November, along with our final report. Please watch for more information on this topic.

I put out a call for manuscripts to be published in a NACTA special issue on "COVID-19 influenced teaching and learning”. Papers can deal with how the transition to online teaching was implemented, student perceptions of the transition, and lessons learned in the process. Manuscripts should be submitted through the normal process by December 31, 2020. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at This email address is being protected from spambots. We appreciate the NACTA members who choose to submit their manuscripts to our Journal. Amoritia, in the NACTA office, has worked diligently these last few months on the technical editing, galley proofing, and publication of manuscripts. I also highly appreciate the reviewers of NACTA papers. We could not publish our papers without you. In some cases, we continue to have issues in not having completed reviews uploaded and reminders sent out in a timely manner. There have been a few cases where we have had to reassign reviews to new reviewers, resulting in very lengthy delays, which is not a situation I like to see. Again, if you have questions, or if you would like to be a reviewer, please do not hesitate to contact me.

This is an exciting time for us, as there will be some changes forthcoming which I trust will improve many aspects of the way your journal will impact all aspects of your NACTA membership.

Thank you,

Frank Robinson
Editor, NACTA Journal

The NACTA Journal (ISSN 0149-4910) is electronically published by the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture. The articles reflect the scholarship of teaching and learning in agricultural, environmental, natural and life sciences. Topics address the art and the science of teaching and learning including teaching methods, problem-solving, and philosophical aspects of teaching and learning. All manuscripts are double-blind peer-reviewed for acceptance. The journal is published on the NACTA website and printed annually.

Each month, NACTA will be highlighting the most recently published articles, teaching tips, and publication statistics.
