NACTA Journal Pauses Submissions to Prepare for Updates Rollout

It is an exciting time of transition at the NACTA Journal. As the new Editorial Board works to finalize the updated journal experience, here are a few things you should note before we begin welcoming new submissions on October 1.

The New Manuscript Handling Platform
On October 1, NACTA will begin utilizing Open Journal Systems to process all journal manuscripts. OpenJournalSystems.com is a minority-owned and operated business that was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. Since 2013, Open Journal Systems has helped academic professionals, research institutions, and universities around the world to establish online journals using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) software.

It is our hope that the new system will be fully implemented by December 15, 2021, and that the FastTrack system will be closed at that time.

NACTA Journal Style
All papers submitted to the NACTA Journal will now be required to follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Seventh Edition. To help prepare your manuscript for submission, we have created a new guideline for authors that includes quick references and best practices that can be used. Please review that document here before submitting your manuscript on October 1 and beyond.

New Submissions Not Accepted Until October 1, 2021
We will be welcoming submissions for original (first submission) manuscripts on the new OJS system on October 1. All submissions must follow APA 7th Edition formatting. Information for authors regarding key details about APA 7th Edition can be found above as well as on the NACTA website.

Until the OJS system is unveiled, and starting immediately, we will be pausing submissions of new (first submission) manuscripts. We greatly value your submissions and are taking this time to prepare what we hope will be a much smoother and more efficient experience for authors, reviewers and NACTA staff.

Manuscripts that have previously been submitted through the FastTrack system and are currently in the review or revision process will continue to be handled through FastTrack until December 15, 2021. We are working diligently to get these papers through the final steps and to publication as quickly as possible.
