2020 Call for Poster, Oral and Workshop Abstracts - Due Feb 1

NACTA would like to welcome abstract submissions for the 2020 NACTA Conference at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM on June 16 - 19. The submission deadline is February 1, 2020.

The 66th Annual NACTA Conference will serve as a venue for faculty and graduate students in agricultural, environmental, natural, and life sciences to share their scholarship of teaching, innovative teaching and advising ideas, and other relevant teaching and learning information through the theme of "Hot Chile, Cool Learning.”

Please include keywords with abstract submission. We request that abstracts for the 2020 NACTA Conference fall within one of the following topic areas:

  • Innovative Teaching and Learning
  • Global Education
  • Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
  • Teaching with Technology
  • Online Programming
  • College / University Curriculum
  • K-12 Curriculum
  • Community Learning / Extension

NACTA seeks to inspire achievement at the highest levels of excellence. Recognizing and honoring individuals whose efforts represent the very best in the teaching of agriculture, environmental, natural or life sciences at the post-secondary level is one of the central purposes of NACTA. At the same time, NACTA seeks to encourage these colleagues to share with us their methods of achieving excellence.

NACTA Mourns the Passing of Past President Wayne Banwart

We are deeply saddened to share with you the news of the passing of longtime NACTA member and Past President, Dr. Wayne Banwart. Wayne served as president from 2007 - 2008 and Associate Dean Emeritus at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

We are better for having served alongside Wayne and for sharing in this field that we love. He will be greatly missed.
