Writing for the NACTA Journal - Tips

This section of the E-newsletter will feature helpful tips on preparing a manuscript for the NACTA Journal.

Teaching Tips/Notes are needed for the NACTA Journal. Teaching Tips/Notes should be 500 to 1000 words long and the writing style must be very concise. Make every word count, focusing on one idea that works for you. Develop the teaching tip/note as a "how to" so someone could use the practice.

Teaching tips/notes can include anything that makes teaching more effective, such as object lessons, role playing, projects, case studies, the use of technology, and so on. If you are uncertain about your topic, contact the Editor.

In preparation of a teaching tip/note for publication, include the following headings: (1) Introduction (why this is important to teaching); (2) Procedure (the how to); and (3) Assessment (how do you know that the tip works and improves teaching). References (Literature Cited) are not needed.

Teaching tips/notes can be submitted electronically through the NACTA manuscript submission site: http://nacta.ft.expressacademic.org/login.php. In the "Notes" section of the submission include the words "Teaching Tip/Note."

Teaching Tips/Notes are not peer-reviewed, just editorialized.
