Abstract:
Land-grant universities were created by the Morrill Acts of 1862 and 1890 to emphasize the practical aspects of education. To meet this public charge schools of agriculture have been providing this type of learning experience with their wide variety of basic and applied curricula. In the 1970's there occurred an increased demand for useful and vocationally relevant college programs as undergraduate students placed renewed emphasis on education for occupations. The result was a period marked by sharp increases in agriculture enrollments?
